Click here to view the latest version of the record.This Law was enacted in furtherance of the Nagoya Protocol on Access to Genetic Resources and the Fair and Equitable Sharing of Benefits Arising from Their Utilization to the Convention on Biological Diversity of October 29, 2010 (hereinafter referred to as “the Nagoya Protocol”), and it establishes legal bases for state regulation in the field of genetic resources management and/or associated traditional knowledge for the purpose of their protection and the fair and equitable sharing of benefits arising from their utilization to ensure the conservation and sustainable use of biological diversity, preservation of human health and provision of food security.
According to paragraph 2 of Article 10 of the Law of the Republic of Belarus dated March 5, 2024 No. 356-З "On Genetic Resources Management", the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environmental Protection of the Republic of Belarus established the forms of documents in the field of the genetic resources management.
